Shipley Glen has received repeated rain over the past week with no meaningful dry spell, and today itself has seen 1mm of precipitation. The sheltered, north-facing woodland setting means the gritstone will be thoroughly damp internally despite any surface drying, and conditions are not suitable for climbing.
Based on weather conditions only — does not cover bird nesting restrictions or other access issues.

Climbing Outlook
Site Details
One of Yorkshire's best pure bouldering sites, set in a wooded glen near Baildon. Around 386 problems specialising in old-school highballs on small crimps and edges. Everything tends to feel hard for the grade due to the technical, crimpy style. The sheltered woodland setting means it can stay damp longer after rain but is pleasant in summer heat.
Condition Notes
Sheltered woodland setting traps moisture — can stay damp longer after rain than exposed moorland gritstone venues. North/NW aspect receives minimal direct sun. Pleasant in summer heat but allow extra drying time in cooler months.
