After an extremely wet period (152mm in 28 days including 52mm on Feb 11–12), conditions have improved markedly over the last 10 days with only trace precipitation and warming temperatures. However, Ravens Crag's sheltered, lower position and the sheer volume of accumulated moisture mean internal dampness may persist — a visual and tactile check on arrival is essential before committing to climb.
Based on weather conditions only — does not cover bird nesting restrictions or other access issues.

Climbing Outlook
Site Details
A small but worthwhile bouldering venue at the foot of the hillside below Bowden Doors, part of the same Colour Heugh SSSI. Around 80–100 boulder problems predominantly low-angle and slab-based with rounded holds — a different character to the steep, powerful lines higher up. Greatest concentration in mid-grades (Font 5–6b) with several longer traverse problems. Being lower on the hillside and partially sheltered by the ridge above, it dries noticeably more slowly than Bowden Doors after rain. The porous Fell Sandstone must not be climbed when damp. Park as for Bowden Doors on the B6349 west of Belford and walk downhill across the field.
Condition Notes
Lower on the hillside and partially sheltered by the ridge above, so dries noticeably more slowly than Bowden Doors after rain despite being part of the same crag system.
