The rock at Shipley Glen is likely still holding internal moisture from the recent wet spell (11.1mm on Aug 20, plus smaller amounts on the 16th–19th and 21st), and today's rain (1.7mm forecast) resets any drying progress. With heavy rain forecast for the next four days (43+ mm), conditions will remain unsuitable for the foreseeable future.

The crag received 10.8mm of heavy rain on Aug 20 followed by a good 5-day drying window, but light rain today (0.5mm) has re-wetted the surface, and a major wet spell (15.8mm tomorrow, then further rain through Aug 30) is about to arrive. Conditions are marginal right now and about to deteriorate significantly — we recommend not climbing.

Recent heavy rain on Aug 20 (11.6mm) followed by scattered showers and persistently high humidity means the rock has not had adequate continuous drying, and a major wet spell is forecast from tomorrow through Aug 30. Today offers marginal conditions at best on exposed south-facing formations, but internal moisture from the unsettled past week is a concern, and climbing is not recommended.

Recent rain (11.6mm on Aug 20, plus smaller amounts on Aug 16–19 and Aug 21) followed by only four dry days before today's light drizzle, combined with persistently high humidity (~80%+) and the sheltered, enclosed gorge environment, means Trollers Gill is likely still holding residual moisture and seepage. A massive 46.7mm of rain is forecast over the next five days, making conditions progressively worse.
